The mission of the Hub is to research all available publications on AI and assess the value of emerging Technology to the (RCI) Roofing and Cladding and Insulation Industry and Construction Industry to empower Business Leaders to stay ahead of change and make better business decisions. For many RCI people, AI is vague confusing and out of reach. If you are an expert in Data Science or automation technologies then this website is not for you. It has been created for the Construction and RCI men and women, and business teams to give you a view of the very near future and to encourage collaboration. Robots (see section on Robots for Waterproofing) are here already in the UK and they and AI will transform every aspect of the Construction / Roofing/ Waterproofing business.
We have partnered with many AI experts and in future will assist thousands of Roofing contractors, general contractors, Specification companies and Distributors with online training courses on topics such as AI for Beginners, AI for the Sales Office and Salespeople, AI for Estimators, AI for Marketing, and AI Strategies for Growth. The Ai Hub will also bring you the latest news and insight on AI as it will affect the UK Construction and RCI business.
Dr Roy Jenkins has been employed in the Building Material sector for many years. He has a BSc ( Glasgow University ) and PhD Science sponsored by the U.S.A. Air Force ( Aerospace Research, Dayton Ohio. He has been a leading director in 2 Management Buy-outs (Thermalite ) concrete blocks £12m and persuaded Neil Armstrong -the first man on the moon to help launch Thermalite in 7 Regional Hotels to Architects – and a Buy-out of Quiligotti PLC -terrazzo flooring £8m. He was the MD of Icopal UK ( Andersons waterproofing/ Callanders insulation/ Vulcanite and Monarflex ) for 11 years and was European Director of Icopal ( 2 years ). Roy also ran a small Roofing Contracting business based in Devon and recently has been the UK director of Krypton Chemicals. Roy was also the CEO of the BFRC ( British Flat Roof Council ) Director of the FRA ( Flat Roofing Alliance ) and the founder and MD of the IMA (intelligent Membrane Association) Roy is also the MD of the PRA ( Polyurea Roofing Association )
Roy became interested in AI because his son and his wife are the joint owners of a successful Office Furniture and Acoustic Pod supplier with a showroom in Clerkenwell London (www.welltek.co )who hired a large AI Consultancy Group to give a presentation for London Architects to hear “How AI will affect Architects in the UK” and his daughter’s final project with her Degree in Fashion Marketing ( UCL London ) was to write 5000 words “How AI will affect the Fashion industry in UK” So Roy realised that no-one was explaining, in common language, “how AI will affect the Waterproofing Industry and RCI ( roofing, cladding and insulation industry ) and all Contractors in the UK.
Change is not just coming, it is in full swing, we are on our way to a new Technology where your PC will be obsolete in 2 years. It is predicted that 70 % of all PC shipped globally will be AI PCs in 2 years and in the USA businessmen can today get their own AI Assistant from ChatGPT Plus for 25 $ per month. It is predicted that Open AI who own Chat GPT, will kill Google ( and Google AdWords ).
